Joan brings a great deal of experience, both professionally and personally, to her coaching practice. With her broad background as a business owner and her expertise in marketing, public relations, publishing, customer support, family relations and psychology, both business and individual clients will find she can relate to their experiences.

Joan's formal coaching knowledge was acquired through Coach U. In addition she holds a masters degree from UMass Boston in Educational Psychology and her undergraduate degree is in Marketing.

Business Background
Joan owned Image Positioning Inc., a public relations firm for twelve years. Her team provided a broad range of services from image and marketing research and consulting to production of the technical programs for national trade shows. Joan also published a popular, high technology book for a client, and has written many articles that have appeared in national trade journals. Her clients have included United Parcel Service, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and MCI WorldCom. During her years in business she has been the confidant of many CEOs and executives.

Later she was a founding partner of A2B Tracking Solutions Inc, a software company supplying tracking applications to over 300 Fortune 500 companies as well as hospitals, universities and the federal government. At A2B Joan has handled all corporate communications, developed business plans for investor funding and handled reporting for government contracting. Life Experience
Joan also has a wealth of life experience, which gives her wisdom and compassion with regard to her clients' personal lives. Her graduate work in psychology provides further capability with coaching clients who are facing transitions and life changing situations such as divorce, family alcohol abuse, single parenting, remarriage, step-parenting, aging parents and others. She and her husband have successfully blended two families, with a total of eight children.

Joan is an avid sailor who races offshore on her family's 43-foot sloop. She also skippers a J24 sailboat and for many years raced all winter long with the Duxbury Frostbite Society for whom she served as the only woman commodore. She can often be found streaking across Duxbury Bay on her Laser or walking her golden retrievers Rainbow and Lily.
